How to change the water filter in the Frigidaire series refrigerator
2021-03-18
Frigidaire series refrigerators use PureSource Ultra water filters to remove chemicals and impurities from tap water. The water circulates through the filter before it reaches the ice maker and dispenses water from the refrigerator door. The filter can purify up to six months or up to 200 gallons of water before it needs to be replaced. Your Frigidaire refrigerator may stop dispensing water and freeze until you change the water filter.

1. Lift the metal arm in the ice bucket to turn off the ice maker in the refrigerator.

2. Look for the round filter in the refrigerator in the upper right corner of the compartment. Push the end of the water filter to release it from the filter housing. Pull out the old filter from the housing and discard it.

3. Align the spare water filter with the filter housing. Slide the filter into the housing. Push the end of the filter until it clicks.

4. Press the big water cup on the lever of the water dispenser. Be prepared to let the dispenser spit and spit water intermittently as the air flows through the pipe. Discard the water and fill the water glass again. Continue to fill the glass and discard the water for at least four minutes.

5. Lower the metal arm in the ice bucket to open the ice maker. Press and hold the water filter button for three seconds to reset the filter status on the dispenser panel.
